Dr. Chandra Sekhar Das Memorial Award 2023 - Awardees Dr. Kumar Kanti Das, Padma Shri Dr. Ravi Kannan, honored at Gandhi Bhawan, Silchar, Assam, June 11, 2023
This year, the awardees for the Prestigious BCH-Dr. Chandra Sekhar Das Memorial Award 2023 are Dr. Kumar Kanti Das (Dr. Lakshman Das), and Padma Shri Dr. Ravi Kannan, from Silchar, Assam; Dr. Sandhya Ravi and Dr Rakesh Ramesh from Bengaluru, Karnataka, for their magnificent service to the patients. The award honors exceptional professionals in the field of healthcare, serving mankind, and also their support towards BCH mission.
Dr C.S Das was introduced Dr Sumit Das. Dr Kumar Kanti Das & Padma Shri Dr Ravi Kannan, recipients of the prestigious Dr C.S Das memorial award-BCH was introduced by Dr. Sarmistha Bhattacharjee. The award was given away by Mrs Rita Das, wife of Late Dr C.S Das, Mr. Kumud Shankar Das, brother of Dr C.S Das, and Dr Lopamudra Das Roy, daughter of Dr. C.S Das.
Breast Cancer Hub organized the event and the program started at 8:30 AM with Cancer Awareness Walk in support of Early detection & prevention of Cancer, Honoring Cancer Fighters & Paying tribute to the families lost to Cancer along with Anti-Tobacco Campaign. The walk was inaugurated and flagged by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Principal, Silchar Medical College. Many organizations, schools, colleges, groups joined hands to support the cause. At 10 AM, the inaugural ceremony commenced with honoring Dr Chandra Sekhar Das by lighting the lamp, by Dr Kumar Kanti Das, Dr Ravi Kannan & Dr Lopamudra Das Roy.
BCH honored the Cancer Fighters Mr Joydeep Biswas, Mr Ramendra Dutta Roy, Mrs. Kalpana Chowdhury, with the Bravest Hero Award. BCH paid Tribute to the departed souls of Dr. Paromita Das Asija, Mrs. Manju Bardia, Mrs. Supti Shyam, Mrs. Bithika Nag with the Bravest Hero Award. On their behalf, the families received the award. Speech was delivered by the Cancer fighters and the families. The program was anchored (MC) and also concluded with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Sanalembi Devi.
BCH is a top-rated 501(C)(3), nonprofit organization founded by Dr Lopamudra Das Roy in 2017, as her full time humanitarian service, providing 100% free services, to bridge the gap between developed and developing countries. Dr Lopa is working globally and across India by conducting community outreaches, screening camps, and serving patients. BCH team has been extensively working in the villages in Cachar district, by adopting 16 villages in the outskirts, performing door-to-door cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment management, taking care end to end. BCH has also adopted villages in West Bengal and Odisha.
